Backlog
Turn feedback and survey responses into prioritized work — and optionally push directly to your PM tool.
The backlog is a kanban board that holds work items promoted from feedback, surveys, or created from scratch. Sync to Jira, Linear, Asana, or Trello — or just use ChirpBack's own board.
Open it from each module's sidebar (Feedback / Survey / Announcements → Backlog).
Columns
Default columns with their counts:
- Backlog — items not yet picked up
- To Do — queued for the next sprint
- In Progress — being worked on
- Done — shipped
You can rename columns and add new ones in the column settings.
Cards show
- Title and description
- Comments count
- Attachment / evidence indicator
- Assignee avatar
- Status color band
Creating items
Three ways:
- From a feedback post — Board → click a post → "Create backlog item"
- From a survey response — Survey → Responses → "Create backlog item"
- From scratch — click + at the top of any column
When created from feedback or a survey, the evidence link is permanent — clicking back to the source always works.
Linking evidence
Open any backlog item → "Link evidence" → search feedback or survey responses → link one or many. Each linked item shows in the drawer with its quote.
Filtering and search
The header has Search tasks… plus a filter button. Filter by status, assignee, tag, or evidence type.
PM tool sync
The connection indicator at the top right shows your default PM tool — for example Jira • Connected. Use the refresh icon to re-sync.
Where items go by default (ChirpBack backlog vs. a PM tool) is set in Project Settings → Workflow. Each push can override the default per-click.
The Workflow page lists supported PM tools: Jira, Asana, Trello, Linear. You can:
- Send new items straight into your PM tool, OR
- Keep them in the ChirpBack backlog and sync later
The Recent push activity panel on the Workflow page shows the last 10 items pushed.
