Segments
Group users into audiences you can target with surveys and announcements.
A segment is a saved audience. Use them to send surveys and announcements to the right people. Find them at Survey → Audience and Announcements → Audience.
Two segment types
| Type | How it builds |
|---|---|
| Dynamic | Auto-updates based on rules. Users move in and out as their data changes. |
| Static | Fixed list of people. The list stays as-is unless you edit it. |
Pick the type when you create a segment — + Create segment → Continue.
Built-in segments
ChirpBack auto-maintains several NPS-based segments out of the box:
- NPS Detractors (Auto) — users who gave NPS 0–6
- NPS Passives (Auto) — users who gave NPS 7–8
- NPS Promoters (Auto) — users who gave NPS 9–10
These update automatically as new NPS responses come in.
The People view
Toggle between Segments and People in the Audience page. People view lists everyone identified in your project — search, filter, and add them to static segments.
Filtering segments
Filter pills above the table:
- All
- Dynamic — rule-based
- Static — manual lists
- Used in campaigns — segments currently linked to a survey or announcement
- Archived
Using a segment
When creating or editing a survey or announcement, pick a segment under the Audience step. The campaign only shows to users matching that segment.
